In this tutorial, we’ll learn how to create a quick pop art image without doing any difficult illustration work.
Step 1
Open your image in Photoshop
This will work best with a clean background, but it is not completely necessary.

Go to your Image Menu and select Adjustments > Threshold.

This will split your photo into strictly black and white, and you can adjust the slider to a point where you have the proper amount of detail that you want from your original photo. Once you are happy, click OK.

Once open, you can set a custom gradient by clicking on one of the pre-set gradients and editing it.
Step 6
Once you are happy with your gradient colour, click OK, go to your layers palette and select Multiply. Alternatively you can select the Screen Blending Mode to give you a different colour effect on a white backgound.
